Biometrics
I3 has been decisively engaged in the development of the Department of Defense (DoD) biometric enterprise since its inception and is the U.S. Army’s largest provider of in-theater biometric and forensic services.
I3 has developed force protection initiatives in the area of ID card and smartcard programs with the Multi-Purpose Access Card (MPAC) and Biometric Identification System for Access (BISA) systems in Iraq that vet and certify Iraqis for positions of trust. In addition, I3 supports the U.S. Army’s Biometrics Task Force (BTF) in the development of internal, interagency and international biometric policy resulting in the inclusion of DoD-affiliated U.S. personnel biometric data in the DoD Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) as well as the policy governing the collection and searching of biometric data pertaining to isolated U.S. persons in theater.
